CRAFTt BEER PROCESS

Grinding: The malt is milled to make it easier to extract the sugars. Mashing: This process, which lasts from 2 to 5 hours, extracts the fermentable sugars and other important components of the malt. First, the malt is milled, then mixed with hot water, remaining at a temperature of approximately 65ºC. After this process, the water rich in sugars (now called WORT) is removed and what remains of the ground malt is washed with hot water to extract as much of the sugars that remain as possible. Boil: The must is boiled in the boiler, usually 1 to 2 hours. During the boiling, the hops are added at different times, in order to confer the bitterness, taste, and aroma that each brewer desires. At the end of the boil, the wort is separated from the hops and cooled, being prepared for the fermentation.

Fermentation: The yeast is added to the wort to start the fermentation and turn it into beer. The “Ale” (high fermentation) fermentations last from 5 to 10 days, at temperatures of 16 to 21ºC. Lager fermentations are generally longer, with an initial fermentation of 10 to 13ºC, followed by a maturation period at 1ºC.

After the fermentation is complete, the primming and bottling is performed, after bottling it still lacks a waiting period of at least 7 days, depending on the style of the beer, during this period the CO2 will be generated in the beer, it is when the Referring to the bottle.

GRAINS BREWPUB

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CRAFT BEERS

Our beers were initially produced in Famalicão, at the MUSA factory. At the moment we have our own factory under development in Lagos, where we will open the second Grains Brewpub, with the same concept but with its own integrated manufacturing.

While our factory is under development we work with many national and international brands of brewed beer such as MUSA, Brewdog, Lervig, Dois Corvos, Letra, Magic Rock, among others that complete our Brewpub.

Cocktails

COCKTAILS WITH CRAFT BEER

At Grains, we have eight cocktails made with craft beer, and why craft beer?

Because while there are quite a few “Beer Lovers” who believe that beer should only be consumed in its pure form, there are beer cocktails that provide a unique blend of flavors.
